General description

3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine/IBMX is a nonselective inhibitor.IBMX can induce melanogenesis. Hence, it is considered as a positive control in melanogenesis studies.

Application

3-Isobutyl-1-methylxanthine has been used:
• in the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)
• in adipogenic differentiation
• in glucose-stimulated insulin secretion test (GSIS)
• in the characterization of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells
• cAMP assay

3-Isobutyl-1-methylxanthine has been used:
• in the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)
• as a culture medium supplement for inducing adipogenic differentiation
• as a supplement in Krebs-Ringer buffer with HEPES (KRBH) solution for inducing glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS)
• in the characterization of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells
• in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) assay
• in phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibition

Biochem/physiol Actions

cAMPcGMP磷酸二酯酶的非特异性抑制剂。由IBMX对磷酸二酯酶的抑制而引起的cAMP水平的增加可激活PKA,而引起增殖减少、分化增加并诱导细胞凋亡。 IBMX可抑制苯肾上腺素诱导的气道粘膜神经内  分 泌上皮细胞5-羟色胺释放。(IC501.3 μM)。还可作为一种腺苷受体拮抗剂。 已显示出对神经肌肉接头、GH3细胞和血管平滑肌细胞中离子通道的抑制。诱导感觉神经元中储存在细胞内的钙的释放。
